Biodiversity Conservation

A Rocha South Africa seeks opportunities to get involved with or initiate conservation projects. Our aim is to actively take care of God’s creation and lead by example.

A Rocha South Africa’s conservation impact is achieved within the following three categories. They are ‘Conservation Projects’, ‘Action Teams’ and ‘Partner Organisations’

Conservation Projects

Through ‘Conservation Projects’ we partner with existing conservation groups and assist them in the work they do. Our two main projects are ‘The Tortoise Project’ and the ‘Ferncliffe Forest restoration Project’.

Action Teams

Our ‘Action Teams’ do community-base conservation projects like river clean-ups. This is done by volunteers or organised by Christion groups.

A Rocha Partner Organisations

Our ‘A Rocha Partner Organisations (APO’s)’ are landowners, like Phillipskop Mountain Reserve, who adopts A Rocha SA’s ethos of caring for God’s creation and commit themselves to achieve measurable goals in biodiversity conservation, stewardship of natural habitats and sustainable living
