Council of reference – Mark Brown PhD

Council of Reference

Mark is an ornithologist and pastor who loves Jesus, His creation and His people. He lives in Plettenberg Bay with his wife Kelly and children Jesse and Kate. Having started out working full time in the academic environment, Mark then worked in the NGO sphere for several years before recently moving into the business world. He has a PhD in Zoology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he also holds an Honorary Research Fellow position. Mark has published numerous research articles, book chapters and popular magazine pieces, and loves giving public talks and sharing his passion for birds with people on outings and field trips. As a pastor of Xtreme Life Church in Plettenberg Bay, Mark and his family love sharing their love for God’s creation with people in the beautiful place they get to call home.
